From July 18 to July 24, 2001, we cruised from Sitka, Alaska to Jeaneau, Alaska aboard Sea Sister Joyce Gauthier's North Sea Trawler, the M/V Ursa Major. Captain Ron Miller, Chef Rich Sharpe and First Mate Josh Haury gave us the experience of a lifetime.

M/V Ursa Major at Red Bluff Bay
In the Pacific Northwest, the water is often very deep, right up to the shoreline.

The Main Salon
Chef Rich Sharpe kept us well fed. Rich gave Maria some of his favorite onboard recipes to print in the September 2001 newsletter.

We had a full, private head through the doorway at right. As you can see, Josh kept us supplied with clean towels.

Dave, Chef Rich "Lucky Pierre" Sharpe and Maria
It was cold in Tracy Arm (as compared to South Florida). When Rich donned his flannel beret, a new persona emerged.

She's researching an article....really!
